Shri Sugathan has graduated from the Govt Law College, Ernakulam and started his career at Alappuzha District Centre from 1970 onwards. He has been regarded for his forte in Criminal Law and high profile Civil cases, especially Criminal litigations to the extent of defending offences punishable under section 302 of IPC.
Shri Sugathan simultaneously extended his services to the public by venturing into active politics from the year 1970. A veteran in his turf, D. Sugathan has served as MLA, representing the Ambalappuzha constituency in the 11th Kerala State Assembly. His dedication and valour took him to the panache of his career, which includes a few dignified positions ; to mention a few;

A profound scholar and historian, Adv. D. Sugathan has the Gift of the Gab and has authored and published over half a dozen books and has a few other in the pipeline. The Bhasha Institute of Kerala had published his book- “ Nammude Niyamangal”, which highlights the basic laws, benefiting the proletarians. His other creations include

Shri Sugathan has been relentlessly striving to take DSA to it’s pinnacle through his perseverance and professional approach. His experience and expertise has transformed him into a mentor par- excellence. Though not into the litigation side at present, D. Sugathan is the guiding force and back-bone of our firm. He continues to serve as the Chief Advisory Counsel of DSA and his far- sighted decisions and timely advice has helped us to a great extent in maintaining our repute and standards.
